A well-finished home flooded with natural light, ample space in living areas and is great for entertaining. Salty Sands is a split level home with 6 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and dining area. This beautiful home offered an abundance of peaceful surroundings, stunning views and direct beach access. A generous landscaped garden with a pool compliment the property and multiple entertainment areas. The house can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests.

Salt Rock Beach is the main beach of the little town of the same name, which is perched along the coast of KwaZulu-Natal. It is idyllic for its palm trees, white sand, and warm turquoise waters. And, thanks to its being protected by shark nets in the water and lifeguards on the beach, it is a fantastic choice for families and those that want to cool off in the temperate waters of the Dolphin Coast.

The town of Salt Rock is just north of the holiday hotspot of Ballito, about 45 minutes from the centre of Durban, and about 25 minutes from its international airport

Generator for power failure or  loadshedding

No Pets allowed 

Due to the number of stairs, we do not recommend elderly or young children for this home.


This house does not get affected by the loadshedding schedule.

In the event of power failures, the generator will manually be started by the staff and will last for about 8 hours depending on the diesel.

The generator powers the whole property with all appliances including the geysers, ovens and aircons. There is a gas/charcoal braai outside to also allow for cooking.

It is advisable to try and not use washing machines, tumble driers and aircons unless absolutely necessary during power outages.

The flatlet might find it a bit noisy so we recommend switching the generator off when going to bed. The alarm system won’t work when the generator is off. There will be rechargeable lamps for night time in case the generator is off and there is no power for some reason.


During the year the owner's cat lives on the property.

The cat will not be in the house when guests are staying.

We would suggest guests be conscious of this if they are prone to pet allergies. 


The house offers high security with internal and external zoned beams and security shutters

Bedroom Four (outside): Adults room with sea view, king-size bed, with ceiling fan, aircon, built-in cupboards, blackout curtains, ensuite with a bathtub, shower, loo and basin 

Bedroom Five (outside, Interleading with bedroom four): Twin beds apart with ceiling fan, aircon, built-in cupboards, ensuite with shower, loo and basin 

Bedroom Six (Separate Cottage with two flights of stairs): Sea view, Queen size bed, ceiling fan, aircon, blackout curtains, built-in cupboards, ensuite with shower, open plan loo and double basin. Access to a small garden. A kitchenette with a small under-counter bar fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave.


Rental includes Housekeeping from Monday to Friday, from 8 am until 2 pm

This house offers limited availability throughout the year.

Luxury Coastal Escapes accept reservations on an owner request procedure, then on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Please note that we do not accept all adult bookings, and have a preference to family bookings.

We do not accept student bookings & no parties are allowed at the holiday rental.
